The Prado in Google Earth: Online Art in 14, 0000 Megapixels

Virtual field trips just got an upgrade!

Google Earth released a new application this week that allows masterpieces such as a Rembrandt or a Velasquez in the Spain’s Prado Museum to be viewed in unique way.  You can now examine a painter’s brushstrokes using Google Earth Technology to naviagate reproductions of the Prado in 14, 000 megapixels and an incredible  3D view of the museum as well. 

From Google: “Experience art in a new way. Open Google Earth, check the 3D buildings layer on the bottom left panel, go to the Prado and access the masterpieces.”
